Internal Perfusion

A unique feature of the Patchliner is the internal solution exchange between two recordings. The figure shows two simultaneously recorded Jurkat cells in the presence of a control internal solution, after the exchange of the internal solution with a Cs+ containing solution and a subsequent washout step. The ability to change the internal solution multiple times, along with long lasting and stable whole cell recordings possible with the Patchliner opens up a broad new range of experiments.

Internal solution exchange. Since Kv1.3 is a K+ permeable channel the current can be decreased when the permeable K+ is replaced by the non-permeable cation Cs+.
