Softwareentwickler (w/m/d)

für Projekte in unserer Hochdurchsatzplattform und unserem wachsenden Produktportfolio. In einem interdisziplinären Team von Wissenschaftlern und Ingenieuren erarbeitest Du Designvorschläge für benutzerfreundliche graphische Oberflächen. Im Windows-Umfeld entwirfst Du passende Architekturen und entwickelst leistungsfähige Applikationen oder Werkzeuge und nutzt dafür alle Möglichkeiten die NI LabView bietet. Du begleitest alle Phasen des Softwareentwicklungsprozesses und übernimmst die Verantwortung für Deine Teilprojekte oder Projekte.

Das solltest Du mitbringen:

  • Studium mit einem Schwerpunkt Informatik-oder gleichwertige praktische Erfahrungen.
  • Erfahrung im Umgang mit NI LabView.
  • Kreativität bei der Gestaltung von Benutzerinterfaces.
  • Grundverständnis in Automatisierungstechnik.
  • Analytisches Geschick, Neugierde und Lösungsorientierung.
  • Fließendes Deutsch und Englisch.
  • Einige Jahre Berufserfahrung in der agilen Softwareentwicklung oder Erfahrung mit C, C# oder Java sind ein Plus.

This position is located in Livingston, New JerseyUSA

Qualifications and Background Requirements

The applicant must have an MS or Ph.D. degree in electrophysiology/biophysics, neuroscience, biochemistry, or other relevant life science field.

  • The ideal candidate will have significant experience with bilayer lipid membrane (BLM) systems for patch clamp electrophysiological measurements of reconstituted membrane proteins (ion channels, membrane transporters or ion pumps).
  • Experience with electrical measurements of pore-forming peptides, porins, or biological nanopores in artificial membrane environments and nanopore-based single-molecule measurements is highly desired.
  • Candidates should have experience with conventional bilayer (BLM) recording systems integrated to Warner, Axon or HEKA amplifiers. Also required is the ability to perform unitary current analysis (event detection, conductance measurements, histogram analysis, etc.) using commercially available or custom analysis tools.
  • Other skills beneficial to this position include knowledge in cell culture techniques, assay development, as well as experience in technical support and customer interactions.
  • Strong communication (oral presentation/public speaking and writing) required. Language skills required: English, fluent in speech and writing.
  • The applicant should have the ability to work independently and have strong interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills.
  • The successful applicant must have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multicultural and team-oriented environment.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel (35% overnight) within North America.

Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.

Application Scientist - Shanghai, China

Due to our continued growth Nanion Technologies China is seeking an Application Scientist to support our electrophysiological-instruments customers. These instruments are used within research, drug discovery and safety pharmacology. As a member of our Chinese team, you will work with technical and application support on Nanion’s automated patch clamp platforms. You will also contribute in sales and marketing activities including product demonstrations, installations, training and trade show participation.

Nanion Technologies is a rapidly-growing instrumentation company offering automated ion channel screening workstations serving both industry and academic research institutions. Nanion has several product families consisting of instruments, software and consumables for automated electrophysiology, bilayer recording technology and cell monitoring.

This position is located in Shanghai, China.

Primary Functions

  • You’ll be responsible for equipment installation, user training, product maintenance and further activities related to these.
  • You will perform product demonstrations, pre-sale technical support and product promotion.
  • You’ll also be involved in sales and marketing. This will include participating in exhibitions and other marketing-related activities.

Your Qualifications

  • A technical engineering master’s degree or above.
  • An electrophysiology background and familiar with various skills related to patch clamp experiments (you should have done electrophysiology experiments independently at the graduate stage)
  • You should be familiar with cell culture technology.
  • Knowledge in areas of cardiovascular research will be an added advantage.
  • English language skills are a plus.
  • Frequent travel is required.

Technical Service Engineer - Munich, Germany

To support the increasing demand of Nanion’s products, and to provide premium customer service, Nanion is expanding the team in their headquarter in Munich, Germany, and offering a position as a Technical Service Engineer, full-time.

This position is located in Munich Germany

The role includes:

  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on technical components and products.
  • Provide remote technical customer Support for Nanion products via mail, phone and remote control/desktop sharing.
  • Initiate and follow up on Service Support from our collaborators.
  • Initiate and execute internal Service parts orders.
  • Maintain Service Stock.
  • Create, track and monitor records for incoming Support requests. Keep Assets system updated related to case activities and resolutions.
  • Participate and contribute to team meetings and other company meetings across the Nanion organization.
  • Must be able to work within the frame of several different teams and still be able to execute work assignments individually.

As a Technical Service Engineer – The successful candidate will be responsible to work with Customer Support across Nanion products, as well as internal Support for all the Nanion global branches with the Service Manager, the Service Team and specific Product Managers.

Profile and Requirements:

  • Some college or equivalent experience; Electronics/technical coursework
  • Entry level with some prior experience providing technical support in a business environment.
  • Windows OS experience
  • Hands-on and practical knowledge of networks and computer systems.
  • Excellent English oral and written communications skills with customers and peers; tactful and effective customer communications.
  • Strong team player
  • Ability and willingness to evaluate and learn new technologies and apply them effectively.
  • Previous position with customer service experience is a bonus.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in Germany
