12.09.2017: New Port-a-Patch paper on Store-operated Currents (SOCs) in Colon Cancer Cells
Title: "Mitochondria sustain store-operated currents in colon cancer cells but not in normal colonic cells: reversal by non-steroidal anti-inflammation drugs"
Congratulations to Carlos Villalobos and colleagues at the Spanish National Research Council, University of Valladolid and INCELL Corporation for their recent paper showing the role of mitochondria in colon cancer. Using the Port-a-Patch, these researchers show that mitochondria sustain store-operated currents (SOCs) in colon cancer cells and propose a method of colon cancer cell prevention using NSAIDs. SOCs from two different cell lines were recorded in the whole cell mode using the Port-a-Patch and activated using internal thapsigargin. Download the full paper here.
