21.11.2019: And the Winner is...

Ding, ding, ding, we have a Winner!!

Meet our Winner! - Ph.D. Student Dominika Besterciová. Dominika finished her master's degree in animal physiology and ethology at Comenius University in Bratislava and whereas she still studies at the university, she does most of her work at the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Her field of study is neurophysiology where she concentrates mainly on the effect of cerebellar transcranial direct current stimulation on several nonmotor functions such as acoustic startle response or prepulse inhibition and language processing in the cerebellum.
The main goal of her research is to change the view of the cerebellum as the structure responsible only for movement control and to bring more information about the role of the cerebellum in various cognitive and affective functions. Dominika is familiar with patch-clamping and was extremely happy and surprised when she found out that she had won the Port-a-Patch mini " Win an iPad " contest.
