20.10.2021: Optical pacing of hiPSC-CMs

The stimulating optical lid, CardioExcyte 96 SOL, uses LEDs for spatially uniform stimulation of cells transfected with light-gated ion channels such as Channelrhodopsin2 (ChR2).

The upper graph shows raw traces of iCell CM2 (FCDI) with endogeneous beating and stimulated with different frequencies of light pulses on FLEXcyte 96. The lower graph shows the stimulation rate plotted against the recorded beat rate (average of 96 wells). Cells were transfected with ChR2 using Fuse-It-mRNA from, data kindly provided by innoVitro and Forschungszentrum Juelich, Dr. Marco Hoffmann, Institute of Biological Information Processing (IBI-2), RNA-Technologies.
