Authors David J.A. Wyllie and Derek Bowie give a brief history of ionotropic glutamate receptor research and an overview of 5 papers in the 15th January 2022 issue of the Journal of Physiology. This includes the Techniques in Physiology paper by Obergrussberger et al, 2022 highlighting the advances and applications of high throughput methods for automated electrophysiological studies and specifically patch-clamp recording.
