Field Service Engineer,
Remote, Germany (Europe)

Nanion Technologies is a rapidly growing instrumentation company offering automated ion channel screening workstations serving industry and academic research institutions. To support the increasing demand of Nanion’s products, and to provide premium customer service, Nanion is expanding the team in Germany, and offering a position as a Field Service Engineer in full-time – 40 h per week, Mon-Fri.

This is a Remote role based in Germany (preferred Area is west Germany, close to an airport) with availability to travel across Europe for 60-70% of the time.

The successful candidate will be part of the HQ Service team in Munich, Germany.

Job
Responsibilities

  • New installations, periodic maintenances and relocations, troubleshooting, repair, and support, at customer sites in Europe
  • Coordinating & scheduling all technical visits
  • Provide support, in collaboration with the whole R&D and the Service Teams at Nanion HQ
  • The successful candidate is able to work independently, has strong and relevant technical troubleshooting, detail-oriented skills and is able to maintain a close and professional relationship with customers

When not traveling, the candidate will be in charge of:

  • Providing detailed reports and analysis of visits, including suggestions for actions and improvements
  • Documenting and maintaining all relevant information in our Support and Asset Management database
  • Planning and scheduling activities: Track and ensure that all service is performed within specific contractual Service Level Agreements
  • Helping with technical documentation and supporting our customers from remote

 

Qualifications

  • Prior field service experience 2+ years with scientific instruments
  • Since most of our communication happens in English you need to be fluent in it (written and spoken)
  • Excellent ability to work independently
  • Documented customer experience with strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multicultural and team-oriented environment
  • Valid driving license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the life science industry is a plus
  • BS or MS in Engineering
  • Knowledge of Automated Patch Clamp and liquid handling platforms is a huge plus
