About the conference

The Organellar Channels and Transporters GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.

The Organellar Channels and Transporters GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science. The meeting will be held for the 4th time in 2023, and is dedicated to ion channels and primary or secondary transporters from intracellular organelles in animals, plants, and yeasts. Organelles covered include, but are not limited to, endosomes, lysosomes, vacuoles, mitochondria, chloroplasts, the nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi, secretory vesicles, and the primary cilium.

Ground-breaking advances in the field of intracellular channels and transporters have been recently made. While the identification of novel intracellular channels and transporters – as well as the characterization of their structures and mechanisms – continues to produce exciting discoveries, new insights as emerging regarding the regulation of these membrane proteins which enable their roles to be elucidated in the context of the dynamic nature of organelles and the wider roles played by organellar channels and transporters in cellular and organismal homeostasis. This conference aims to bring together investigators working on diverse biological systems who might not otherwise interact and for whom potential research synergies exist. The talks will focus on recent developments at the molecular, cellular, and organismal levels and will include new, unpublished work according to the guiding principle of a Gordon conference.

The program will include a diverse range of speakers from all career stages, and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. Several abstracts will be selected for oral presentation, including abstracts from students and postdocs participating in the associated Gordon Research Seminar (GRS).
