Welcome to Shanghai!

We are excited to announce that the Membrane Physiology Symposium (MPS) is coming to China for the very first time, hosted in Shanghai from September 20–21, 2025 at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Bringing MPS to China marks an important step in strengthening international scientific exchange and highlighting the country’s growing role in membrane physiology, ion channel research, and drug discovery. By gathering leading experts from academia and industry, MPS China will create new opportunities for collaboration and innovation across the region.

When: September 20 - 21, 2025

Venue: Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Admission: Free

Join our hands-on workshops

During the symposium, attendees will visit the SIMM lab to explore and work directly with Nanion’s cutting-edge technologies, including: SyncroPatch 384, Port-a-Patch, Orbit mini, and CardioExcyte 96. You'll have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the instruments, observe live experiments, and receive short training sessions from our experts.

MPS Going Global

Since its launch in Napa Valley, USA in 2024, MPS has become a global meeting point for researchers in membrane physiology and biophysics. The inspiring debut in Napa was followed by another successful edition in 2025, and most recently by our first meeting in Tokyo, Japan, in July 2025.

With each symposium, the community has grown stronger and the exchange of ideas expanded across borders. Now, with MPS arriving in Shanghai, we look forward to building bridges between global and local researchers, advancing science together.
