Meet András Horváth in Plymouth, UK
Monday and Tuesday, September 2nd -3rd
Andras will be teaching students with a hands-on workshop about patch clamp electrophysiology on the Port-a-Patch mini and bilayer recordings on the Orbit mini. In small groups, the students will be shown how to capture cells to the patch clamp chip, get a good seal using the Suction Control and breaking the patch of membrane to gain access to ion channel activity occurring across the cell membrane. Current-voltage plots will be recorded and the external solution will be exchanged. Students will also be shown how to paint bilayers and incorporate recombinant proteins into the membrane using the Orbit mini. After a short introduction, the students will be encouraged to try this out for themselves.
Furthermore, Ed Cooper will be giving a talk which will feature SP768PE data from the Alfred L. George’s lab.
