World Cancer Day 2025
🎗 Cancer affects us all. Most of us know someone who is fighting this battle. With around 20 million new cancer cases diagnosed each year, it’s something that touches almost every family, every group of friends, every workplace.
There’s a lot of incredible work happening in research and medicine to better understand cancer and find safer, more effective treatments. Some of the most promising approaches right now include:
▶️ 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆: checkpoint inhibitors, CAR T-cell therapies, Cancer vaccines.
▶️ 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀: next-generation KRAS inhibitors, Antibody-drug conjugates.
▶️ 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲: genetic profiling of tumors, consideration of the patient’s lifestyle and health conditions in treatment planning, optimization of treatment efficacy.
But there’s another promising avenue in cancer research that doesn’t get talked about as much – ionchannels and transporters. More and more research is showing that they play a big role in cancer. Ion channels and transporters can regulate tumor growth, drug resistance, and metastasis, offering a new frontier for innovative treatments.
At 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻, we’re proud to support researchers exploring this important area. With our technologies, they can study ion channels and transporters as possible new targets for cancer treatment as well as find ways to make treatments more effective and safer for patients.
We know we’re just one piece of the puzzle, but every piece counts. And if our tools can help scientists get even one step closer to better treatments, then that’s something truly worth working for.
Today, on World Cancer Day, we stand with everyone affected by cancer – the patients, the families, the researchers, the doctors, and all those who keep hoping for better days ahead.
